A New acting managing director of the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND), has today been appointed by the Minister of Finance

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has today, Wednesday, August 24, approved the appointment of Ezekiel Oseni as the Acting Managing Director of the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND).
In a statement released on Wednesday by the permanent secretary, ministry of finance, Dr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse, Oseni’s appointment takes place with immediate effect.
Prior to his appointment, Oseni served as a General Manager and Chief Risk Officer at the Bank of Industry.
It would be recalled that NERFUND was reopened this past June after it was closed for one week due to allegations that the agency mismanaged N700m in funds.
NERFUND was established in 1989 to expand domestic production, increase employment, and strengthen the economy by financing small- and medium-scale enterprises throughout Nigeria.
