Mayor of Houston in America Proclaims July 17 as Comedian, Basketmouth's Day

Few days after the US Congress made a proclamation acknowledging the legendary status of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, honour has also been extended to Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth by the mayor of Houston, Texas.

Nigerian veteran comedian, Basketmouth has undoubtedly entered the history books. Few days ago, US Congress made a proclamation acknowledging the afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and now, a similar honour has been extended to the ace comedian by the city of Houston.

According to the document posted by Basketmouth on his Instagram page, signed by Annice D. Parker, Mayor of the City of Houston, July 17 has been officially declared Basketmouth Day in honour of the highly rated Nigerian comedian.
The congressional recognition ceremony will hold on July 18, 2015 same day as his One-man stand comedy concert, "Basketmouth Uncensored" at the Ayva Center in Houston.

It is now on record that Basketmouth is the first Nigerian entertainer to be so honoured. Congratulations to him!!!
