An armed robber robbing innocent passengers of a bus along the road has met his untimely death after he was crushed by a truck.

A deadly armed robber who was robbing passengers of a bus has been crushed to death by a truck. The incident happened at the Ojo Lowo bus stop in the Ijanikin area of Lagos State.
According to a report by Punch, the armed robber was operating along with other hoodlums around 10.30pm on Friday and stood at the bus stop to waylay bus passengers. However, when a police patrol team showed up, the robbers fled to different directions as one of the robbers while trying to escape was crushed to death by an oncoming truck. He died on the spot.
The police also arrested another member of the robbery gang identified as Bassey Eyo while the others fled the scene.
A police source said: “It was a distress call from the affected motorists that alerted the police to the robbery operation. When the hoodlums sighted the police patrol, they fled, and one of them was knocked down by the truck. His corpse has been deposited in the Badagry General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident.
“Effort is on to arrest other suspects and to recover their arms,” she added.
