Policemen Search Phones and Pockets of Passers-by in Lagos (Photos)

A social media user in the Ijanikin area of Lagos has reported the antics of policemen in the area to harass and extort money from people.

Some set of policemen in the Ijanikin area of Lagos have been accused of privacy invasion which militates against the code of conduct guiding the Nigeria Police Force.

According to a netizen who shared these pictures, these police officers staying at Iyana Era bus stop Ijanikin, Lagos State are indiscriminately searching the phones and pockets of passersby.
 
 
More reports have it that the act has become a daily affair as a decoy to extort money from innocent youth who are roped in petty crimes and unfounded allegations.

"Even Google hasn't been searched like this before. Does the police force have any right to to stop and collect someone phone to search into his privacy?" a resident lamented.
