Barrister Kenneth Imansuagbon
A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Edo state, Barrister Kenneth Imansuagbon has allegedly defected to the ruling party All Progressives Congress.
According to the Leadership, he claimed his defection was for the purpose of consolidating the good works of Governor Adams Oshiomohle in Edo state who is on his way out of office. He has pledged his support to President Muhammadu Buhari and believes the president can turn the fortunes of Nigeria around.
This comes as a crippling blow to the PDP in Edo Central senatorial district and in the state.
This move in the search of better opportunities puts him against eminent politicians in the class of former minister of works, Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi; the Edo state commissioner of work, Barrister Osarodion Ogie; the Edo state deputy governor, Pius Odubu, and retired Major General Charles Airhiavbere, who will be contending for the APC governorship ticket in the state in 2016.
Prior to his defection, he had during the last general election worked behind the scenes for the victory of the APC in his Esan South East local government area, a move which turned the tide against the PDP.
Barrister Kenneth Imansuagbon has been formally welcomed into the APC by the leadership of the party in the state
