The future of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Edo State seems gloomy following a reported insufficient support of electorates towards the gubernatorial election which is 48hrs away.
This prompted the party to purpotedly liase with security operatives to delay the election slated for Saturday, 10th of September, 2016 to permit tactical moves to salvage the current depleted supporters' base of the party that produced Governor Adams Oshiomhole who allegedly handpicked Godwin Obaseki, a technocrat to replace him as governor.
Pastor Iyze Iyamu who is the flagbearer of the PDP has been described as a grassroot politician who is well trusted by the Edo people. The current economic downturn in Nigeria which has been aggravated under President Muhammadu Buhari is predicted to scuttle the chances of Obaseki's emergence as Governor of the state as a recent visit by the President in Edo State failed to inspire meaningful support for the party.
