In recent times, the IDP camps have become a death camp as children deprived of food starve to death. Many suffer from acute malnutrition, according to United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund.
The Geneva-based Medicins Sans Frontieres recently reported that six malnourished children die daily in the IDP camp in Bama, Borno State. The authorities have been lambasted after report emerged that food items meant for the Internally displaced persons are being stolen by officials.
