Airmen currently battling Boko Haram terrorists in the north-eastern part of Nigeria took a break to enjoy the Sallah celebration.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has used the occasion of the festive period to appreciate and commend personnel in the North East for their commitment to make the region, and the nation at large, safe again.

Speaking during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration with troops in Maiduguri and Yola, the CAS conveyed the appreciation on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari and all Nigerians.

“The good work you are doing in the North East is well appreciated and commended by Mr President and all Nigerians”, the CAS said, while urging them not to rest on their oars but to sustain the high morale and tempo of operation against the insurgents.

The CAS, who is currently away on official assignment to South Africa, was represented at both occasions by the Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM James Gbum.
