A woman escaped being lynched to death after she murdered her husband's lover after finding out about the relationship.
Angry residents have stormed the police station in Gicugu constituency, Kirinyaga County, Kenya on Monday evening asking for the head of a 35-year-old woman who allegedly killed another in a messy love triangle.
eDaily reports that the suspect Mary Wawira Ngare fatally stabbed Elizabeth Wanjiku in the neck with a kitchen knife for allegedly involving herself in an intimate relationship with her husband Stephen Njogu Magu.
According to Gicugu AP Commander Stephen Munyi, Ms Wanjiku’s body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus. The woman was however saved from the angry crowd.
The suspect was moved to Kianyaga Police Station for safety reasons. AP Commander Stephen Munyi said police have launched investigations into the matter.
