Niger Delta militants in Owerri have surrendered before Governor Rochas Okorocha after giving up their deadly weapons.

Some Niger Delta Militants based at Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema LGA, today surrendered their dealdy weapons to the Imo State government.
 
Also, leaders of various restive cult group did the same thing and surrendered weapons and charms. The militants pledged not to go back to shooting, killing and destruction of oil pipelines in their areas.
 
 
Large number of arms and ammunition including, AK 47, Pump Actions, grenades, short and long local made guns, charms etc were received by the State Governor Owele Rochas Okorocha, OON, in conjunction with the Commissioner of Police, CP Taiwo Lakanu, fdc and the Brigade Commander of 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze - Owerri.
