An aged man who was arrested with stolen Turkeys, said he wanted to use them to celebrate Sallah.
An unknown 52 yera old man had been banking on celebrating the upcoming Sallah celebrations with someone else's hardwork when he stole eight live Turkeys in Iju/Agege area of Lagos State.
His plan was busted by a local team of O'odua Peoples Congress (OPC), patrolling the area, as he was apprehended at about 3 am with the birds in the booth of his car on Wednesday, July 8.
According to reports, the OPC men had accosted the man at that ungodly hour and on opening his vehicle's booth, they found the Turkeys and when he was asked where he got them from, he said he had bought them at the market the previous day in preparation for the celebrations and had forgotten to bring them out of the booth.
When they asked him which market he bought the birds, the man could not tell the precise market.
The vigilante men decided to detain him with them till the morning when they would go to his house to find out the truth from his family but as soon as the day broke, a woman was heard screaming that her Turkeys had got missing in the night.
On hearing the screams, the man attempted to escape but was caught.
He was later handed over to the police after enough beating and disgrace.
