A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association and presumptive gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu has received the backing of 11 political bigwigs in the Sunshine State.

Rotimi Akeredolu

An All Aspirants’ Meeting was held on September 18, 2016 at 16 Ikogosi Street; Ondo State. The Chairman of Chairmen of Local Governments and the Chairman of Chairmen of Chairmen of wards were also invited.

The question for determination put before invitees was as follows:

Would you support the Ondo State Primary Election of 2016 as sufficiently credible and that we should accept it and move on APC Campaign?

The responses received to the above question are stated underneath:

(1) Aspirant Jamiu Ekungba

“I wish to say that I am not only accepting the verdict of the primary but appealing to the other aspirants to come together to rescue Ondo State…”

(2) Aspirant Tayo Alasoadura

“We all know that the election was very credible. Aside that, anything that will take away the victory of the legitimate winner will spell doom for the Party at the polls…”

(3) Aspirant Chief Mrs. Anifowose

“It is better and more honorable to accept the result of the Primary and work for victory for APC.”

(4) Alhaji Rasheed Badmus – Chairman of Chairmen LGAs

“The chairmen of the LGAs already met and are of the view that we should accept the result and move ahead to work for victory of APC at the Nov 26, 2016 election.”

(5) Aspirant Niran Moyosore

He proposed over the telephone that the Party should accept the Candidate elected or opt for a new consensus outside the major candidates in conflict.

(6) Aspirant Boye Oyewumi

“I pledge my support for Aketi and have no problem working with him.”

(7) Chief Kolawole – Chairman of Chair of Chairs of APC wards

“The decision of the ward chairmen is to support and diligently work in support of the decision of the Party, whatever the decision is.”

(8) Aspirant Tunji Abayomi

“All I know is that it has not been shown that Mr Akeredolu altered or could alter the delegates list. There is also no evidence that the so called strange delegates voted solely for him. In consequence, I cannot just understand why we should not support the result and work to win on Nov 26, 2016. I distributed the delegates list without any complaints, was in the Hall, saw no problems. I have further confirmed from the Chairmen of the LGAs that the delegates list in controversy were in fact approved by the D.I Kekemeke Executive.”

(9) Aspirant Foluso Adefemi

“Yes of course, I support the result of the Primary if that is the will of God for the people of Ondo. I got the message late I may not likely attend the meeting.”

(10) Aspirant Bode Ayorinde (Achiever)

“The decision of the Party and focus on winning the November 26, 2016 election is what we should support”

(11) Aspirant Victor Olabimtan

“I am in support of Rotimi Akeredolu. The primary was Ok. Somebody has won so let us join hands together to work for the victory of the Party.”
