Properties belonging to the former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema have been reportedly seized by the EFCC over allegations of money laundering.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly seized houses belonging to the former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema.

Shema was recently declared wanted by the EFCC before
he willingly turned himself in for allegedly diverting N18billion of the state government’s fund to his private account.
He turned himself in at the EFCC office in Abuja around 9:30 a.m. last Friday.
His spokesperson, Oluwabusola Olawale said the ex-governor turned himself in because “he is a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear.”
He added that Shema “went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.”
