Police at the scene of the crime

A 20-year-old woman (name withheld) from Athi in Kajiado county, Kenya, has utterly shocked residents.

The woman got people completely stunned when she beheaded her three-year-old son and dumped his body in a bush just so that she could move in with her newly found boyfriend.

According to Tuko, the woman is said to have met the boyfriend who promised to marry her on condition that he does not take in the kid.

The woman then opted to kill the son so she could move in with him.

After committing the heinous crime, the woman dumped the body of the boy in a nearby bush and reported that her son had gone missing.

She did this in the knowledge of her close friend.

However, residents suspected something could be amiss when the woman did not show any remorse or commitment to look for the ‘lost son’.

The residents pressurized her friend who opened up and told them the woman had killed the son and dumped his body in the bush.

A crowd quickly gathers at the scene

The woman said she took the step after a man promised to marry her but gave her conditions that he was not willing to take the boy in and care for him.

Officers from Athi River police station arrived in time and retrieved the body of the toddler. They arrested the two women.

Residents described the young boy as a jovial being and wondered why the mother would kill her son because of a man.
