NBC Wields The Big Hammer On Songs Deemed 'Suggestive'

The NBC has placed a ban on playing of songs deemed 'suggestive' by radio and television stations.

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, in line with its mandate of regulating content broadcasted by both private and public radio and television stations, has placed a ban on playing of 'suggestive' songs.

In the past, the NBC used to release a list of songs it considered to be 'offensive' or unsuitable for airplay in the country but this time, it simply gave the discretionary powers to the stations, according to popular radio OAP, Gemi Olateru-Olagbegi.

The OAP further adds that a station could be fined if it plays any song the NBC deems to be 'suggestive' even if the station doesn't see it that way. Confusing, right?
