Some social media users based in the Niger Delta region are currently circulating a report that ex leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo attended his father's burial in the company of policemen and a mammoth crowd without any confrontation by security operatives who have since been on his trail since last year over financial crimes.

An investigative exercise by Tori News revealed Tompolo's appearance is a hoax. The person being taken as Tompolo is actually his cousin named George who in a way shares a striking resemblance with the former militant leader.

Meanwhile, the burial rites of late High Chief Thomas Osen Ekpemupolo went agog on Thursday in the city of Warri, at the residence of Ekpemupolo family of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The burial rites began with the gates of Veenell Hospital shut as movements of persons were restricted; only select members of the Ekpemupolo family and traditional Chiefs from Gbaramatu Kingdom were allowed access into the premises due to the suspicion that the death of Late High Chief Thomas Osen Ekpemupolo may trigger tension within the area.
