Dr. Olusegun Abraham of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo has refused to rest on his oars after failing to secure the gubernatorial ticket as he plots his next move.

One of the aggrieved  governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Abraham, has vowed to challenge the result of the primary of the party if the party fails to declare him  the winner of the primary, Punch reports.

The party held its primary on September 3, 2016 and a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), was declared the winner of the election.

Not satisfied with the result, Abraham, Chief Olusola Oke and Senator Ajayi Boroffice petitioned the Election Appeal Committee of the party, calling for the cancellation of the result of the primary.

Abraham, who spoke with journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday, said he would use all avenues to get justice and if all the avenues failed, he would approach the court to get his mandate of being the party’s standard bearer at the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

He said, “I will explore all avenues to get justice; there are three avenues to get justice in the APC and I just explored only one; remaining two but if all the avenues fail, I will go to court.

“This mandate belongs to me and I will get it despite the fact that the name of Akeredolu has been submitted to INEC. We still have up till October 19, before his (Akeredolu)  name will be substituted.”

Abraham, who was the preferred candidate of the National Leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu, noted that the popularity of the party dwindled after Akeredolu was announced the winner of the primary

Meanwhile, Akereodolu popularly known as Aketi has continued to soar high in popularity in Ondo as he gathers momentum to face his main opponent, Eyitayo Jegede of the People's Democratic Party on the 28th of November, 2016.
