Some youths from the remote part of Edo State are currently celebrating the victory of Pastor Osagie Iyze Iyamu at their polling unit.

People have started celebrating in Idokapa after tentative election results favoured the People's Democratic Party in their zone.

"It will be another history in Nigeria democracy if PDP eventually wins. That means no politician is untouchable again in Nigeria. Only your achievements can save you"
a resident said.

Nineteen candidates are vying for governorship ticket, but many believe it is a two horse race between Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Edo State has a total of 1,925,105 registered voters; 192 Registration Areas (RAs); 2,627 Polling Units (PUs); and 4,011 Voting Points (VPs).

A total of 25,000 police officers were deployed across the state to ensure peace and security during the polls, while 44 observer groups were accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as election monitors.
