1. Superman to the rescue
This Nigerian man trended on social media when he ‘flew’ to the Murtala Muhammed Airport in a Superman costume to propose to his girlfriend. She had just arrived in Nigeria after traveling outside the country. I personally find this too corny but hey, that’s just me.
2. Pizza anyone?
A certain Adeagbo Rasheed, who used to work at Domino’s Pizza in Ibadan, decided to propose to his girlfriend at his former workplace. She was a customer while he was on duty when they first met. Quite creative, don’t you think?
3. Election
Last year, now married couple Dolapo and Kunle trended on social media when Kunle decided to pop the question at a Surulere polling unit while they were about to vote. But couldn’t he just wait till they were done voting and make it more intimate? #JustSaying.
4. Fake Death
In 2012, Russian Alexey Bykov hired a scriptwriter, director, stuntmen and make up artists to fake his own death for his grand proposal to his girlfriend. He had planned to meet his girlfriend at a particular spot. However, when she got there she met ambulances, carnage and her boyfriend covered in blood lying face down on the street, seemingly dead. Luckily for Alexey, his girlfriend said yes when he eventually ‘came back to life’ and proposed.
