A popular politician has suddenly disappeared from sight causing serious commotion and panic in his town.
Residents of Kisumu West destroy property as MCA disappears with no trace
Serious violence has erupted in Kisumu West ward, Kenya on Friday, September 30.
The violence erupted after enraged residents destroyed property in protest of alleged abduction of area Member of County Assembly, Paul Odhiambo Okwiri.
The villagers believed that Paul Odhiambo Okwiri, a popular politician, was kidnapped after they found his vehicle abandoned outside his gate with no sign of him.
It is reported that that residents stoned vehicles and torched some houses besides blocking the busy Kisumu-Busia road.
Accoding to The Standard, police officers have responded to the morning unrest.
It is not the first time that an MCA is being abducted, as colleagues from Kiambu, Nairobi, Bungoma and Nakuru briefly disappeared under unclear circumstances.
