A former caretaker committee chairman of Emohua Local Government Area and top chieftain of APC in Rivers State has been kidnapped.

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Mr. Nnamdi Abbah. He was kidnapped on Tuesday night.
The incident took place around Alakahia community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State at about 8pm while he was on his way home en route Obiri Ikwerre road.
According to Punch, the victim, who is a former caretaker committee chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, was accosted by hoodlums while driving home.
It was gathered that the assailants pulled him out of his car and transferred the victim to their own vehicle before escaping.
The source, however, disclosed that the anti-kidnapping unit of the Rivers State Police Command, on Wednesday morning, towed away the abandoned car. A relative of the victim, Mr. Chizy Enyi, has revealed the family has made contact with the kidnappers.
However, the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the state, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said the police were not aware of the incident.
“I am not aware of it. I will find out from the DPO in charge of that area,” Omoni said.
