A native doctor, Babatunde Awofadeju, from Ilesa who claiming to be an expert in voodoo has been arrested by the Osun state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for duping a prince vying for a kingship position in a village in Osun.

The herbalist was apprehended at his shrine in Ogunda area of Ogbagbaa, in the state after the prince tried several means to recover his funds from the native doctor but all efforts proved abortive. He allegedly reported the issue to the NSCDC security operatives who swooped in on the culprit.

According to reports, the suspect was said to have charged his client N980,000 to enable the said prince ascend the throne whether there was opposition against him or not, telling him that a sacrifice was required to be carried out using two ‘gorillas’, or in ritualist parlance, 'Inaki-igboro', which means human beings.

Shockingly, the native doctor has confessed to the crime of duping people which he has been doing over the years. He poses as a spiritualist as a bait to lure unsuspecting victims. He has a network of sales representatives who bring customers for him and he has also been strongly doing advertisements on national newspapers to boost patronage.

The Commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Tajudeen Balogun, said the fake herbalist would soon be charged to court.
