Nigeria gained three massive points in its first 2018 World Cup qualifiers game as it defeated Zambia two goals to One.

Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho got the goals for Nigeria's opening 2018 World Cup qualifying games

It was a wonderful start for Nigeria to the 2018 World cup qualifiers against Zambia in Ndola as two in-form super Eagles strikers - Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho - handed Nigeria a crucial win in the first game of the qualifiers.

In the game played on Sunday, Iwobi scored first with a brilliant volley inside the opponent's penalty area before Iheanacho doubled the lead by dribbling the keeper to score a wonderful goal.

The goals were enough to hand Nigeria three massive points even though the Zambians reduced the deficient by scoring one goal. The game was played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia and is Coach Gernot Rohr's first win since he took over as coach.
