Minister of Women Affairs, Jummai Alhassan Confirms Release of 21 Chibok Girls

The APC gubernatorial candidate in Taraba State, Mama Taraba has also confirmed the release of a number of 21 Chibok girls as Nigerians hunger for full details of freedom process.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jummai Alhassan has confirmed of newly freed 21 Chibok Girls and they are due to meet with the Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo later in the day due to the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who has travelled to Germany on international duty.
 
A media aide of the Presidency has also corroborated the report of the release of the Chibok girls. Reports have it that over 196 girls are currently being held by the Boko Haram sect as subsequent releases may be made over time.
 
It would be recalled that the school girls were abducted by Boko Haram on the 14th-15th of April, 2014. 276 girls were kidnapped out of which a couple escaped.
