An unfortunate owl has ended up being killed by some Lagos residents after they spotted it inside a market, branded it a witch and finally lynched the bird.

Some residents of Lagos State have killed an owl inside the popular Ikotun market in the commercial city after they branded the bird a "witch."
An online user identified only Saasala, who witnessed the lynching said:
"So I was inside the Ikotun market today to get some foodstuff when I heard people shouting blood of Jesus, some speaking in tongues. I turned back to see this beautiful owl trying to escape from a shop. The man in this picture hacked it down with a thick rod. Everyone said it is a witch in bird form."
