Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola

It's been just a couple of days since the 7-week long strike action was called off by Osun state workers, the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in the state, has directed workers to resume the industrial action.

The state chairman of the labour congress, Comrade Jacob Adekomi in a television announcement monitored on Nigeria Television Authority, Osogbo, late Tuesday evening, said workers should not resume as earlier directed.

Well, according to them, the government reneged on the Memorandum of Understanding they signed with Labour and hence the strike action resumed.

The workers say part of the agreement was to pay their January salary in full, but to their amazement, only the junior workers were paid their full salaries, and the senior workers were paid half of their salaries, hence, the suspended strike action to resumes.
