A former Obafemi Awolowo University lecturer of the department of Agricultural Economics has been killed by suspected hired assassins.

Dr. Adedeji Iyanda Adejobi, a former Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural – Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife was murdered last night along Madomo road in the Ile-Ife area of Osun state. The perpetrators are suspected to be hired assassins.
A good friend of his named Ariremako Olumuyiwa Babatunde Amao took to Facebook to send a touching parting message to him.

"On the 14th of July, 2015, between 10:02 and 10:20 pm, he was murdered in the cruelest way possible, by people who actually didnt know how much of a pain he went through before making it this far. For his killers, his death price had already been paid, and he was therefore expendable! And for their sponsors, he was just another life which meant nothing to them.
But they were wrong! Adedeji Adejobi (PhD) was more than just a thing! He was a young man who took life so simple, ever compassionate and always willing to help. He had a reputation for been too nice. A virtue he held on till death.
When I met him in February this year and told him about the passing of my Dad, he looked at me and said: 'Smat', that man is gone! Its now up to you to continue from where he stopped and ensure that all his unfufilled dreams do not die with him. Death, as he told me was a neccesity! And it will surely come some day.
That was vintage Adedeji Adejobi speaking. He was a brilliant, and fine gentleman, who got to the peak of his academics under 30. I guess his killers probably didnt know how useful and important he was to his family, proteges like us, the Nigerian state, and the field of Agricultural Economics!"
