A woman was brutally beaten unconscious by a gang of 25 because they suspected she killed her abusive husband, The Sun reports.

The report reveals that the woman identified as Usha Devi, 45, was at home with her kids when she was dragged from her home in the village of Samastipur, Bihar, India, by a group of men.

They savagely knocked her unconscious before leaving her in the dirt. Shockingly, over 100 people are believed to have stood and watched the vile beating, but none stepped in to help the housewife.

According to information gathered, Devi is said to have killed her husband Ashok Paswan, 50, following an episode of domestic violence. The 45-year-old housewife was rushed to Sadar Hospital in Samastipur following the incident, where she was treated for her injuries.

Speaking about the incident, Deputy Superintendent, Tanveer Ahmed, of Bihar Police, said: “We are currently investigating the case.

“We know the two (husband and wife) had an argument which turned violent. She hit her husband with a rod, and then he died. We are waiting for the post-mortem report.

“The woman is currently being treated at the hospital for her injuries.

“Once she’s well we will continue our investigation and find out what has happened here and we will take due action against the woman and the mob if necessary.”
