The place of Seriake Dickson as the governor of Bayelsa State has been cemented as the Supreme Court gives its ruling on the validity of his election.

The election that brought Seriake Dickson into power as governor of Bayela State has been declared valid.
The declaration was made by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The seven-member panel of judges gave the ruling following an appeal by Timipre Sylva, candidate of the Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the elections.
Mr. Dickson’s election as governor had earlier been ratified by the election tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
