The People's Democratic Party in Ondo has been decimated further to the advantage of the leading All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu in the build-up of the November 26 election.
Senator Yele Omogunwa formally decamped from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Sunday evening at his home town in Irele Local Government area of Ondo State.
Omogunwa is the Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial district of Ondo State in the Senate.
With the latest development, the PDP has no single Senator in Ondo as all the three representing the State at the upper chamber of the National Assembly are now members of APC.
Political analysts have explained that Omogunwa's defection will give the needed oxygen to the governorship ambition of Mr. Akeredolu of the APC who has been heavily tipped to cruise to victory due to massive endorsements across the Sunshine State.
