Popular 70s singer, Sir Victor Uwaifo, is one man whose music can be said to be evergreen as he has continued to remain relevant through the years till date.

The 74-year-old legendary singer, whose songs 'Joromi', 'Guitar Boy' and 'Mami Water' are a favourite anyday, in a recent chat with journalists in Lagos, hinted that he planned on playing music for many more years to come.

Sir Uwaifo, who is currently signed to 2face Idibia's Hypertek Records, said that he considers it is insulting when people ask him when he is going to quit music.

"At 74, I am just starting", he said. "I will soon be 75, but I intend doing this till I’m 90 or even more. It is even offensive asking me if I would retire soon".

He went on to confirm that he started doing music at the tender age of 12.

"I was 12 when I started stringing the guitar because I discovered music quite early. Although my parents were not comfortable with me doing music because they wanted me to focus on my studies. I however believe that talents, discovery is not the all important but how you utilize your talents", he concluded.

Sir Uwaifo, who is the first professional musician in Nigeria to be bestowed the Member of the Order of the Niger Award, MON, is expected to team up with 2Face, Sir Shina Peters and others to make more music.
