The most prestigious music awards night in Africa hosted by Anthony Anderson held last Saturday at the Durban International Convention Centre in South Africa and we bring you the full list of nominees and winners in the various categories.
Africa's biggest music awards' night, the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, took place on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Stars of the African and international music industry all came out for the showpiece event, which was a combination of celebration of contemporary music and artistic ingenuity, electrifying performances, collaborations and awards presentation.
The big winners on the night hosted by Emmy Award nominated actor, Anthony Anderson, were Nigeria's duo of Yemi Alade and Davido, who walked away with Best Female and Best Male Awards respectively. Others were South African rapper, Casper Nyovest (Best Hip Hop), P-Square (Best Group & Artist of the Decade Awards), Mavins (Song of the Year), Patoranking (Best New Act) and D'banj, who took home the MAMA Evolution Award, a new category honouring established artists, who have made an indelible mark on African and global music culture, taken African music to new territories around the world, pushed the boundaries of creativity and shaped the soundscape of contemporary Africa.
