A 22-year-old mother left many in shock after she drowned her little baby and dumped the body in a pit latrine.

There is something really wrong with this generation. This is obviously true after residents of Mathaithi village in Nyeri county of Kenya on Monday morning discovered that a 22-year old mother killed her three-month-old baby drowning the little child in a basin full of water before she dumped the lifeless body in a pit latrine.
What shocked police officers and locals in the area is that Nyawira surrendered herself to police officers and requested them to arrest her after committing the gruesome act, The Kenyans reported.
According to her, she felt guilty and haunted by her actions and opted to surrender to police officers.
Confirming the arrest, Mathira East OCPD Mathew Gwiyo, divulged that the woman would be arraigned in court after they are done with the investigations. Officers from fire brigade in Karatina retrieved the body from the 40-feet pit latrine in an exercise that lasted almost an hour.
