2015 MAMAs: I Was In A State Of Shock Before Receiving Best Female Award, Says Yemi Alade

The Johnny singer said she was in a state of shock momentarily when her name was announced as winner of the Best Female Act at the 2015 MAMAs.

Effyzie Music star, Yemi Alade, has confessed that when her name was announced as winner of the highly coveted Best Female Act at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, it came as a pleasant surprise.

The 'Johnny' singer beat compatriot Seyi Shay among others to win the award this past weekend in Durban, South Africa.

According to her, it took the intervention of her manager, Taiye Aliyu and the P-Square brothers to realise it was actually her name that was being called to receive the Best Female Act award. Yemi poured out her mind on Insagram after the award:

"I didn't write a speech...'didn't hezperetit' lol but everything that came out from my mouth was to the glory of God alone..... Dedicatedtotheteamthatneversleeps.#effyzziebaby ..#stronggirls and # Mytangerines", she wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Yemi Alade has urged her fans to vote for her in the forthcoming Nigerian Entertainment Awards, slated for September 2015 in the U.S

The energetic performer and dancer, who is nominated in four categories, told her fans on Instagram that their votes mean everything to her to bring home the awards.

"YOUR VOTES MEAN EVERYTHING !! CAN WE WIN MORE AWARDS THIS YEAR? WE HAVE 4 NOMINATIONS FOR NEA THIS YEAR... ARE YOU READYYYYY?" she asked her fans, who she calls 'Tangerines'.
