A 55 year old man has been burnt to death in Ajegunle while he was in the kitchen when a gas explosion occurred.
The largely populated area of Ajegunle, was hit with tragedy after a three storey building went up in flames, burning a 55 year old man to death.
The man's 4 children and seven other neighbors were said to have also sustained severe fire burns and were rushed to Tolu Medical Centre, where doctors battled to save their lives.
Report say that the fire was caused by a gas explosion in one of the flats occupied by the Obianagors at 7 Amore street.
It was also learnt that the deceased, Charles Obianagor, was in the kitchen when the explosion occurred.
The fire was said to have spread to other flats , where some occupants managed to escape.
Residents battled in vain to prevent its spread until the arrival of men of Lagos State Fire Service.
The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasaq Fadipe, who confirmed the incident, said the charred remains of Charles Obianagor was recovered in the kitchen after the fire had been put out.
"The fire started at about 2pm. By the time we arrived, those who suffered severe burns, among them, the Obianagors' four children, had been rushed to Tolu Medical Centre," Fadipe said.
He disclosed that the incident was the 10th distress call his agency attended to in one week.
