Many Nigerians have angrily stormed social media to show solidarity with the Super Falcons whose allowances have not been paid.

Falcons protesting

The players of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, this morning, staged a protest at the gates of the National Assembly to press for the payment of their unpaid bonuses and allowances.

Obviously, the new strategy by the protesting Falcons players is to directly get the attention of Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari.

It will be recalled that since two weekends ago when they won the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, the players have been holed up in a hotel in Abuja to protest unpaid entitlements by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

That had not yielded the result they wanted, hence the decision for a protest at NASS.

Now, Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the non payment of the Super Falcons.
