A man has found himself in much more trouble than he can handle after he was found out to have assaulted a little boy sexually.
Idris Ayuba, a 36-year-old man, has been dragged to court to face justice.
The man was on Tuesday arraigned in a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old boy.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ayuba is facing a charge of unnatural offence.
The prosecutor, Mr. Adeniyi Oyeyemi, told the court that one Kelechi Agba of ECWA church, Kogo, Bwari, reported the matter at the police station on November 29.
He alleged that the defendant called his victim to his room and defiled him.
“Ayuba had sexual intercourse with the boy through his anus,” he said.
Oyeyemi urged the court not to grant the defendant bail arguing that the offence was not bailable.
He said, “The police had refused to grant him administrative bail on the grounds that he will abscond.”
The defence counsel, Mr. Ezenwa Ojum, however, urged the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms.
The judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000, with one surety in like sim, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Kagarko adjourned the case till March 9, 2017 for mention.
