No Police Officer Has the Right to Check Your Phone - Lagos Police PRO Reveals

Lagos State police PRO, has issued a warning to all police officers to desist from checking people's phones without authorization.

Policemen have been warned to desist from checking people's phones without any authorized and due cause. The call was made by the Lagos state police PRO, Dolapo Badmus. 
 
According to her, officers who stop people on the road and demand to check their phones are doing that illegally and will be punished when caught.
 
She spoke during an interview with Linda Ikeji TV.
 
She said: "Your phone is private, it’s your private property because people do a lot of private stuffs on their mobile phones so it’s wrong. Police officers have no right to do that except there is a reasonable ground to do so."
