Many Gambians have ran away from their country as the streets are deserted following the political crisis in the state.


Gambians are fleeing in their thousands following the political crisis in the country
 
Pictures obtained by AFP have seen streets and homes deserted in Banjul, the  the capital of The Gambia, following a threat by leaders of the Economic Community of West African States to forcefully remove Yahya Jammeh, who has refused to leave office after he lost the December 1 presidential vote to Adama Barrow.
