While speaking to a group of Nigerians at the National institute of Peace, in Washington D.C, United States, President Buhari, mistakenly mentioned that the school girls kidnapped last year in Chibok, Borno state, were abducted from “their hotels” instead of “their hostels”.

Buhari said: "In the face of abduction of innocent school girls from their hotels, indiscriminate bombings of civilians in markets and places of worship, our forces have remained largely impotent, because they do not possess the appropriate weapons and technology which we could have had."

The President has made several slips in the past, some of which include calling his own party, All Nigerian People’s Congress, referring to his vice as, Yemi Osibande instead of Yemi Osinbajo.

Also during his trip to Germany, Nigerian president referred to the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel as President Mishelle and called her country West Germany.
