Suspected armed robbers crashed into a huge pit in Taraba, after robbing a petty businessman.
The 25th of July, 7:00 pm to be specific was an ill-fated day for 3 suspected armed robbers who allegedly robbed a petrol seller/phone charger at Kpankunfu village in Taraba state. The bandits held the operator at gun point to fill their motocycle tank with fuel and also made away with 19 phones being charged by the operator.
Furthermore, they took away a sum of N12,000 which he had made for the day.
The men were also reported to have shot into the air before leaving. However, youths in the area mobilized and gave the hoodlums a hot chase during which the rider suspect lost control of the motorcycle and all fell into a pit.
The angry youths reportedly rushed them to the hospital where they were pronounced lifeless. The police has received the reports and the State Criminal Investigation Department of the police in Jalingo is currently investigating the issue.
