A picture showing President Buhari, Bola Tinubu and Baba Bisi Akande is still generating controversy online over its authenticity.
President Muhammadu Buhari
There is this wrong notion that all those who are asking for an accurate update on the status of the health of the president want him dead.
The tragedy of this we-versus-them mentality is that there is this misplaced feeling amongst his supporters that they and they only want a better Nigeria. There can be no bigger foolishness.
On Sunday, I did a post on the scathing write up by one of the president's erstwhile supporters. In one of the comments (which I believe many did not really take note of), one guy claimed with so much gusto that the picture of Aisha (First Lady) and the president which went viral was actually taken in 2015! The 'commenter' then challenged Abike Dabiri to prove him wrong. I wouldn't know if his claims were genuine or not.
1. If the president was/is as fit as his supporters want us to believe via these pictures, why extending his now-confirmed medical vacation indefinitely?
2. If he was/is as fit as the pictures want us to believe, why has there not been a recorded voice (either audio alone or with visuals) of the president addressing us?
The controversial picture being circulated online
3. If he was/is as fit as the pictures suggest, why has his location remained a secret?
4. If he returns today, does he have the stamina and mental strength to cope with the demands of his office?
5. This question is directed at those who are over 35: DID THE MAN SEEN IN THE LATEST PICTURES LOOK HEALTHY BY ANY MEANS?
It is in the overall interest of this country for Buhari to finish his term. Those who understand the delicate balance between the north and south will appreciate what I am saying.
Let me say this: if my father looks the way Buhari looked in those pictures, I will publicly admit he is sick, very sick. There is no ego trip about it. It is path of honour and admittance of reality! In fact, that is when genuine love and concern will be shown. That is when people join me in prayers. Again, there is no proof he won't attain full recovery. That is the OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD! But as long as I continue to play the ostrich, perhaps his death and burial will help me admit the truth...eventually!
