Boko Haram: Nigerian Military Chases Off Boko Haram and Frees 30 Hostages

The Nigerian military in the Borno central town of Dikwa, has chased off Boko Haram insurgents and released 30 women, children and babies who were held hostage.

 
Apparently, the recent activity of the Nigerian Military against the Boko Haram is yielding results.
 
Following the morale boosting visit of the new Army Chief, Gen. Tukur Buratai, the soldiers seem to have gained a lot of confidence and swift momentum.
 
Sources say they pounded the terrorists in the Borno central town of Dikwa, and released 30 women, children and babies who were held hostage by the terror group.
 
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations (APR) and spokesperson for the 7 Division of Nigerian Army, Maiduguri,  Colonel Tukur Gusau said, “As a result of ongoing operations  under the aegis of Operation Lafiya Dole to clear Dikwa and its environs from Boko Haram, troops of 7 Division on Monday rescued 30 persons in Kwayabe  and Wufe wards in Dikwa Local Government.”
 
Adding that they also found “a training shed inside the vandalised and looted palace of the Shehu of Dikwa where new Boko Haram recruits were being taught weapon handling and engagement of aircraft.”
