Police Engage Kidnappers In Fierce Gun Battle as Victims Regain Freedom

Gallant members of the Nigeria Police Force engaged some armed kidnappers in one of the remote areas in Lagos state and their captives were freed.

Seven people who were reportedly kidnapped a week ago by unknown gunmen at Igbodu area of Epe, Lagos have now regained their freedom. 
 
This news was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Dolapo Badmus this afternoon. 
 
According to her, the kidnapped victims were able to escape unhurt when members of the Lagos police force acting on information had traced the kidnappers to their den and a fierce gun battle had ensued. 
 
The assailants viciously shot at the police vehice leaving several holes as they made away.
 
She confirmed that no casualty was recorded on the side of the policemen but some of the kidnappers got injured before they escaped into the creeks.
