Foremost influential traditional ruler in yorubaland, Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade, who was rushed to the United Kingdom last week, was reported dead in a London hospital by the media earlier today, and it has gone viral.
The sudden news however has made activities in Ile-Ife come to a halt. Various markets have been closed down and the entire community is in a reflective mood following the news of the death of the Royal Majesty.
Motorcycle riders were also pictured outside the Oba’s palace trying to pay homage to the royal family. There has been an official statement released by the royal traditional council to debunk the viral news. (
