After reports hit the media that President Jonathan’s former Chief Security Officer-Gordon Obua, was hospitalised, further investigations have found out the reason behind his hospitalisation.

According to Vanguard Newspapers, a source close to former President Goodluck Jonathan, revealed that Obua was also diabetic and hypertensive.

“You know that Obua is diabetic and hypertensive. So he suffered from the trauma arising from three days of hunger strike which he embarked upon against his solitary confinement in cubicles underground”, the source said.

You will recall that Governor Ayo Fayose alleged that Obua was not allowed his medications while in detention.

Fayose said “We read in the newspapers that Obua was denied access to his doctor, lawyer and family members and his lawyer claimed on Sunday that Obua was also denied his medications for hypertension and diabetes. Today,we have heard that Obua fainted yesterday and had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment, prompting rumor of his death.”

Obua had undergone an hunger strike in protest of his detention by the DSS which led to complications to his health.

A close family source has revealed that Obua is receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja for the trauma he suffered while in detention.
