A son and his father have ganged up to unleash mayhem on the son's wife by using hot tongs to brand her face, genitals and chest.

A 22-year-old woman was horrifically branded with hot tongs by her husband and his father because she received a call from an unknown number,

The woman identified as Jhamku, suffered burns all over her body because they suspected she was having an affair. Her husband, Bhagga Gameti, and his father, Lehri Lal, reacted angrily and spoke to the caller, but could not identify who he was.
They first attacked her with sticks before burning her legs, face, chest and genitals with hot tongs. The mother of one kept kept crying for mercy but they did not stop torturing her, and a large crowd gathered outside their home in Udaipur, Rajasthan in northern India.
Her ordeal lasted for two hours before she was left to writhe in pain. The victim told the Hindustan Times: 'They branded my body parts, including private parts, with a hot iron rod and fled from the house when locals raised an alarm on hearing my cries for help.'
It was only after news spread to nearby villages that Sunday's incident was reported to local police, but Bhagga was not arrested until Wednesday.
Jhamku was sent to her parent's house where she is being given medical treatment at home.
Om Kumar, police officer who is handling the case said: 'We have arrested the husband and will arrest the other accused if he too is found guilty during the course of investigation.'
