FCT Authorities Impound 20,373 'Okada' Motorcycles in Abuja

A total of 20, 373 motorcycles, otherwise known as 'okada' have been seized in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 
Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory have impounded 20, 373 motorcycles, otherwise known as ‘okada’ for violating restriction orders. 
 
The bikes were seized in order ensure sanity within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly within the city centre.

Speaking to journalists in an interactive session in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary ministry of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Engineer John Obinna said that the motorcycles were impounded for violating the FCT order, which limited their operations to the satellite towns, stressing that the FCT authority would not rest on its oars to ensure that at least the city centre remained the pride of the nation.
