Police have arrested two persons for allegedly making the manhood of a 17-yearold boy 'vanish' in Niger State.
Two men have been arrested by the men of the Niger state Police Command on the grounds of snatching the manhood of a 17-year old boy, Suleiman Usman through diabolical means.
The awful incident took place at Lambata in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State. This was reportedly done when the 17-year old boy shook hands with one of the two men.
A witness, Mohammed Tsado, said the victim told him that one of the suspects alighted from a car and asked him to shake him but he declined. But the suspect insisted by asking him whether he was not a Muslim. After accepting the handshake, Usman, according to the witness, realised that his manhood had vanished and then he raised an alarm.
The two men reportedly rushed into a car and drove off but they were arrested by a group of vigilantes at Muye following an information that had circulated. Angry youths allegedly tried lynching the two strangers if not for the timely response of policemen who promptly rescued them from the mob.
The youths asked the arrested men to replace his manhood which they did. The 17-year old boy was taken to a nearby brothel to confirm the status of his manhood. Tension is still on the rise as the boy is feared impotent.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, said it was a sensitive case that required professional handling.
He said: “But, the angry youth did not allow the police to do their job.
"I can assure you that we are on top of the matter and we will ensure the case is handled amicably.”
