Arsene Wenger's 21-year reign at English club, Arsenal might been seeing its last days following a rumoured agreement with an Italian tactician to salvage the faltering gunners.

Massimiliano Allegri

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has reached a verbal agreement with Arsenal to replace Arsene Wenger should he stand down, according to the Daily Express.

With Wenger's future at the Emirates Stadium uncertain, Allegri is in pole position to take over if the Frenchman declines to extend his 20-year tenure beyond the end of 2016-17.

Mr. Wenger has been the manager of Arsenal since October 1996, where he has since become the  club's longest-serving manager and most ever successful of all time.

Football pundits give Wenger credit for his contribution to the revolutionising of football in England in the late 1990s through the introduction of changes in the training and diet of players.

In other news, with Luis Enrique to step down as Barcelona coach at the end of the season, the Camp Nou side are considering Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement, L'Equipe reports.

However, the Italian is not one of the favourites for the role, with the prefered candidates Ernesto Valverde of Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla's Jorge Sampaoli.
